Ceramic Journal: Sgraffito technique

I started off hand-building a pot, mini plate and some spoons with crank clay. I then painted some white slip onto the pieces and sgraffito the hell out of them. This was a really fun technique where you paint on leather hard clay that hasn't been fired and then scratch out the surface decoration. When they are bisque fired I will be using transparent glaze so you can still clearly see the pattern underneath. I cant wait to see the finished results.

I have finally finished the crank clay that I bought and I am onto the Lava Flex clay, YAY. This is the first time I have done spoons so lets see if they come out in one piece. The pattern was just me doodling haven't planned out anything yet (note to self get more organised).
